Get essential protection and peace of mind with a Renter Insurance policy from AFI.

The Armed Forces Insurance renters insurance policy helps protect you and your belongings when the unexpected happens. Your landlord's insurance policy covers the building you live in but not your personal things. Whether you live in quarters on base/post or in civillian housing, you should have a renters insurance policy.

Why insure with AFI?

AFI's renter insurance protects you in situations that everyone can face: fire, theft, water damage, and other circumstances your landlord's policy may not cover.

Liability Protection – As an added layer of protection, our policy package offers personal liability coverage to protect you if you unintentionally injure someone or damage their property.

No Credit Score Requirement – Your premium is not dependent on your credit score.

Competitive Pricing – The average AFI renter policy only costs around $20/month, AND there are NO installment fees if you set up with an automatic payment.

Not military? Not a problem!

Active-duty, veterans and their families are eligible for AFI membership. We also shop top carriers for anyone who wants great rates and service.

Worldwide Coverage

An AFI Renter policy moves with you and covers your household goods in your home, in storage, and while you're deployed.

What does the AFI Renters insurance policy cover?

A Renter Package from Armed Forces Insurance consists of two policies – Household Goods and Personal Liability.
This package from AFI was created with the unique needs of today's military and DoD personnel in mind.

Household Goods

Household Goods coverage helps pay to repair or replace furniture, clothing and uniforms, electronics, tools, and other belongings if they're destroyed in a covered loss such as theft, fire, windstorm, hail, lightning, vandalism and malicious mischief, smoke, explosion and accidental discharge of water.

Personal Liability

Personal liability coverage helps protect your assets if you or your family members are liable for someone else's damage or injuries. Medical coverage covers medical expenses for guests who are accidentally injured at your home.

Get even more protection when you add AFI's Comprehensive Coverage endorsement.

When you add AFI's Comprehensive Coverage Endorsement to your Household Goods Policy, your property is also protected against:

Earthquake (no special deductible required)
Accidental Breakage
Mysterious Disappearance

How much coverage do I need?

The amount of coverage everyone needs varies. A good way to find out how much you need is to take a home inventory of your property and it's worth, and assess your how much you might need to protect yourself in a situation where you are liable for injuries or property damage. An AFI agent is able to help make sure you are properly covered.
